Our luxury SUVs here at Land Rover Orlando give drivers plenty of options and engines to choose from. Many of these engines run on gasoline, but some actually require another type of fuel.

It's important to know which models offer which engine options so you know where to fuel up. This breakdown from our Land Rover service experts can help.

Gasoline Engines

Most vehicles on the market today run on gasoline, so it shouldn't surprise you that all of our new Land Rover and Range Rover models offer at least one gasoline engine to pick from. For example, the 2022 Land Rover Discovery is available with two gasoline engines.

On the other hand, the 2022 Land Rover Discovery is available with only one gasoline engine. The 2022 Land Rover Defender offers three different gasoline engines and a fourth that uses gasoline and mild hybrid technology to boost fuel efficiency.

The 2022 Range Rover Sport offers a choice between four gasoline engines. The 2022 Range Rover Velar offers three, two of which use mild hybrid technology. Similarly, the 2022 Range Rover Evoque offers a choice between two gas engines, one of which also uses mild hybrid technology.

Finally, the 2022 Range Rover is available with two gasoline V8 engines and two smaller gasoline engines that use mild hybrid technology.

Diesel and Hybrid Options

Diesel engines used to be far more common for Land Rover and Range Rover models. Diesel engines are known for their torque and fuel efficiency, and right now, only one model offers a diesel engine option: the 2022 Range Rover.

We've mentioned mild hybrid technology with some of our models, which can improve fuel economy. However, the 2022 Range Rover is also available as a plug-in hybrid. This model uses gasoline as fuel, but also requires electricity. The result is an incredible combination of power and fuel efficiency.
